The Indian Rope Skipping Federation works to create structured, safe and credible opportunities for players, coaches, judges, schools and sports administrators.

Who we are

A federation focused on people and pathways

IRSF is a national sports federation dedicated to the promotion and development of rope skipping in India. Through competitions, technical education, school programmes and an expanding state and district network, the federation works to help participants progress from grassroots involvement to higher levels of performance.

Development in India

A movement built over more than two decades

Rope skipping began developing as an organised competitive sport in India around the year 2000. Since then, sustained work by administrators, coaches, schools, associations and athletes has expanded its reach.

Organised development begins

Rope skipping starts establishing itself in India as a structured competitive and educational sports activity.

Schools

Wider institutional participation

The sport developed through school systems and competitions, including participation in KVS national tournaments and many years within the SGFI Games structure.

2025

Regional tournaments introduced

IRSF expanded its competition structure through regional tournaments to create more accessible pathways.

Today

Learning and certification

The federation is developing blended technical education combining online learning, practical training, assessment and digital records.

Harpal Singh Flora

Founder and promoter of organised rope skipping in India

Harpal Singh Flora is one of the founders who introduced and promoted rope skipping as an organised sport in India. His work has included national development, international representation and the creation of school-level opportunities.

International participation

Opportunities beyond India

IRSF is authorised to facilitate eligible Indian participation in selected international competitions, including the AAU Junior Olympic Games in the United States, Double Dutch competition in New York and the Universal Championship, subject to the applicable selection and event requirements.
