New Delhi, India – The Indian Rope Skipping Federation (IRSF) is set to organize the IRSF National Rope Skipping Championship 2024-25 from November 30th to December 3rd, 2024. Goa to host the Rope Skipping National 2024 – 25 at the Peddem Sports Complex in Mapusa, Goa.

Approximately 300 young athletes, both boys and girls, from 19 states across India will be participating in this prestigious Rope Skipping National 2024 – 25. This will mark the third time in the last 24 years that Goa has hosted the national rope skipping event, a testament to the state’s strong tradition in the sport.

Goa has consistently produced top-tier rope skippers in India, with many of its athletes achieving national and international recognition. The state’s players have regularly secured top-3 finishes in national championships and have represented India in various international tournaments.

Rope skipping is a widely popular sport in India and around the world. It is an accessible and affordable activity that requires minimal infrastructure, making it suitable for all segments of society. From fitness enthusiasts in gyms to world-class athletes, rope skipping is a valuable tool for improving endurance, fitness, and overall athletic performance.

The COVID-19 pandemic saw a surge in popularity for rope skipping as people turned to home workouts for their fitness needs. Even celebrities and government officials, such as former Indian Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, shared videos of themselves skipping rope, further promoting the sport.

The IRSF is committed to fostering the growth of rope skipping in India and aims to host international events in the country to provide Indian athletes with valuable exposure. The federation’s teams have consistently participated in international competitions such as the World Inter-School Rope Skipping Championships and the AAU Junior Olympic Games in the USA. In March 2024, the IRSF team competed in the South Asian Rope Skipping Championship in Kathmandu, Nepal, and Prisha Gulati from Bal Bharti School Dwarka, Delhi, participated in the AAU Junior Olympic Games in Greensboro, USA.
