New Delhi, India – The Indian Rope Skipping Federation (IRSF) has formed a new technical committee to oversee various aspects of the sport, including tournaments, rule books, training programs, and ethical standards. The committee will play a crucial role in elevating the level of judges and coaches to international standards.
The members of the technical committee are:
- Praveen Durbhatkar (Goa): Chair Person
- Suyash Natkar (Maharashtra): Member
- N. Sagar (Andhra Pradesh): Member
- Jaganath Sahadev Shetkar (Maharashtra): Member
The technical committee will be responsible for:
- Organizing and overseeing tournaments
- Developing and updating the tournament rule book
- Conducting training programs for judges and coaches
- Ensuring adherence to international technical standards
- Recommending state-level technical committees to maintain consistent standards across the country

About the members of our Central Technical Committee (CTC):
Parveen Durbhatkar – Chair Person Central Technical Committee
Praveen Durbhatkar, the committee’s chair person, is a rehabilitation and injury prevention coach at a private organization. With 18 years of experience in rope skipping, he has an impressive record of 58 medals at the national level and holds the triple under record of 249 skips, achieved in 2014. He has also represented India at the World Rope Skipping Championship in Hong Kong.
Durbhatkar expressed his commitment to training coaches and judges on the latest rules and regulations. He emphasized the importance of developing a rule book that is easy to understand for coaches, players, and even spectators.
Jaganath Sahadev Shetkar – Member Central Technical Committee
Jaganath Sahadev Shetkar, a key member of the committee, is a Physical Education Teacher, Rope Skipping Coach, and Archery Coach at the National Sports Institute (NSNIS) in Archery. With 15 years of experience, he has achieved 15 national medals and represented CBSE in the SGFI as a coach. Additionally, he holds a Guinness World Record for 30-second Frog Double Unders.
Shetkar’s priorities within the technical committee include:
- Guiding coaches and judges on ethical conduct and responsibilities.
- Conducting events in strict adherence to the rule book.
- Motivating other judges to actively participate in judging.
M. Sagar – Member Central Technical Committee
N. Sagar is a Coach/Fitness Trainer having 12 years experience in Rope Skipping, 7 years coaching in KVS. His Professional Achievements are 6-time national medalist, Team India Coach for South Asian Championship (Nepal, 2024), Mentor for military and paramilitary forces rope skipping selections, Introduced rope skipping to central police forces, National team coach for KVS, NVS, CBSE, and Andhra Pradesh State SGFI.
Sagar’s Priorities in the Technical Committee:
- Conduct workshops: Organize training sessions for coaches, judges, secretaries, and players.
- Revise rule book: Work on a new rule book that is more comprehensive and user-friendly.
- Develop state teams: Assist state teams in improving their performance and capabilities.
- Focus on freestyle judging: Implement a grading system for freestyle events based on skill levels.
- Provide certification courses: Offer certification programs for new members, including mandatory training workshops for new coaches.
Suyash Pundlik Natkat – Member Central Technical Committee
Suyash Pundlik Natkar, a seasoned Physical Education Teacher with a Ph.D. in Rope Skipping, has been appointed as the Sport’s Officer for [Institution Name]. With a remarkable 16-year career, Natkar has not only achieved five national medals but has also made significant contributions to the development of rope skipping in India.
Natkar’s impressive credentials include, BSc, BPEd, MPEd, and a Ph.D. in Rope Skipping, Appointed as an Observer in the CBSE National Rope Skipping Tournament in 2023, Certified National and State Judge, 4-time Head Judge for KVS National Rope Skipping Tournaments, 2-time India Book of Record and 2-time Asia Book of Record Holder, General Secretary of the Aurangabad District Rope Skipping Association
