The event formed part of the wider Fit India Movement, encouraging people to dedicate their Sundays to physical activity and adopt healthier, more active lifestyles.

The initiative provided participants with an opportunity to enjoy fitness in a community environment while highlighting the importance of regular physical activity. With cycling and rope skipping at the centre of the event, participants came together to celebrate health, happiness, and unity.

82nd Sundays on Cycle Brings Fitness and Community Together

The 82nd edition created an energetic atmosphere as fitness enthusiasts, athletes, volunteers, and members of the community participated in the morning activities.

Sundays on Cycle aims to make physical activity a regular part of people’s weekly routines. By encouraging participants to step outdoors and exercise together, Sundays on Cycle creates a positive environment where fitness becomes both enjoyable and social.

Cycling offers participants an opportunity to stay active while exploring the outdoors, while rope skipping provides another accessible and engaging form of physical activity. Bringing both activities together allowed participants to experience different ways of staying fit.

The event also encouraged people to participate with their friends and families, helping strengthen the community aspect of the fitness movement.

Rope Skipping Sundays Expands the Movement

A major feature of the event was Rope Skipping Sundays, which brings the sport of rope skipping into the wider Sundays on Cycle initiative.

Rope skipping is an activity that can be enjoyed recreationally while also serving as a foundation for structured training and competitive sport. Through Rope Skipping Sundays, more people have the opportunity to discover the activity and participate regardless of their previous experience.

The Indian Rope Skipping Federation (IRSF) is proud to support this initiative as an Official Collaborator of the Fit India Movement. Through its involvement, the federation continues to promote rope skipping as a way of encouraging people to become more active.

IRSF’s Contribution to Indian Rope Skipping

The Indian Rope Skipping Federation continues to contribute to the development and promotion of rope skipping throughout India.

The federation has a presence across 24+ States and Union Territories and supports the sport through competitions, training, technical assistance, and educational programmes.

IRSF also provides technical support for CBSE Rope Skipping Championships, helping strengthen the connection between rope skipping and educational institutions.

The federation maintains international connections with organisations including WIRSO in Belgium and IRSO in the USA, while also working to expand opportunities for athletes, coaches, and officials within the sport.

Through programmes such as Rope Skipping Sundays, IRSF is able to introduce rope skipping to a wider audience while contributing to the broader goal of building a fitter and more active India.

A Thank You to Every Participant

The success of the 82nd edition was made possible by the enthusiastic participation of everyone involved.

Participants, volunteers, fitness enthusiasts, and supporters all contributed to creating an energetic and welcoming atmosphere at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium.

Community-based fitness events demonstrate that staying active does not have to be an individual experience. Exercising alongside friends, family members, and fellow participants can make physical activity more enjoyable while creating stronger connections within the community.

The event also serves as an invitation for more people to discover cycling and rope skipping and make them part of their regular routines.

Join Sundays on Cycle Every Sunday

The movement continues to encourage people to spend their Sundays being active. Participants can bring their cycle, skipping rope, family, and friends and take part in the nationwide fitness initiative.

The idea is simple: dedicate time each Sunday to movement, exercise, and community participation. Whether someone chooses cycling, rope skipping, or another form of physical activity, every effort contributes towards a healthier lifestyle.

The 82nd edition once again demonstrated how sport and community participation can come together to promote positive habits.
