The strong participation also demonstrated the importance of creating accessible fitness opportunities where people can come together, stay active and encourage one another.
Self Help Groups Highlight Community Empowerment
A key feature of the 76th edition was the participation of Self Help Groups (SHGs).
SHGs play an important role in strengthening communities through collective participation, dedication and leadership. Their involvement added an important dimension to the event, connecting the message of fitness with the broader themes of empowerment and community development.
The presence of women leaders and SHG members demonstrated how community initiatives can bring people together and encourage active participation in public life.
Through their enthusiasm and involvement, participants helped create an atmosphere that celebrated both physical fitness and community spirit.
Rope Skipping Brings Energy to the Event
Rope skipping was an important part of the Sunday activities, with rope skippers joining cyclists and other participants in creating an energetic fitness environment.
Rope skipping combines coordination, rhythm, speed, endurance and concentration, making it both a competitive sport and an engaging physical activity.
The involvement of the Indian Rope Skipping Federation (IRSF) helped highlight the sport and introduce rope skipping to a wider community.
By bringing athletes and members of the public together, the event demonstrated that rope skipping can be enjoyed by people with different levels of experience and can become a positive part of an active lifestyle.
Fitness Begins with Community. Fitness Builds Bharat.
The central message of the event — “Fitness Begins with Community. Fitness Builds Bharat.” — captured the spirit of the 76th edition.
The morning encouraged participants to make physical activity a part of their daily lives while recognising the value of community support.
Cycling, rope skipping and exercise provided different ways for participants to stay active and enjoy a shared fitness experience.
The event also reflected the broader vision of the Fit India Movement, which encourages citizens to embrace fitness and active living.
